Hello PD-Connectors!!!

QUESTION: What motivates you to exercise?
Email me with your answer!

We know that exercise is like medicine and it is one of the best tools in your toolbox for living well with PD. But as we dig deeper into the research, we see that things get more specific for PD, compared to other populations. For one thing, we know that we should be aiming for:

Charts like these and many others are not anything new to us. But, how do you get from just looking at the chart, to actually getting out there to complete some of the recommendations on the chart?  Finding motivation is different for everyone. In an informal survey in class, some people said they were motivated by Lisa and SteF, or staying healthy, or guilt! We would like to know: WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO EXERCISE?

We want to know your answer so that we can help cater and tailor our workouts to better understand what motivates people who read this newsletter to exercise.

One thing I already know for sure: A body in motion stays in motion. And a body at rest, stays at rest. So it is our job to help figure out ways to get those of you who are at rest, to start moving again, and to start moving MORE. If you were to talk to each other about exercise, I think you will find very interesting answers. Some of you who named yourself ” A Non-Athlete” are now reporting about 3 mile walks, others are sending me pictures of yourself skiing, or balancing on a slack line… So please, email me. We want to know WHAT MOTIVATES YOU!!
